August 27, 2011 was a beautiful late summer day for a hike in the hemlocks.  John Bates and a group of fifteen hikers explored the Lake View Loop, Yellow Birch Loop, and Bog Loop trails.  John shared insights on lake ecology and history in additional to describing the natural world along the trails.
