Happy New Year and Welcome to 2023 at Van Vliet Lake

Welcome to another great year at Van Vliet Lake! We are certainly deep (quite literally) into another beautiful Wisconsin Winter.

As your 2023 schedule begins to take shape be sure to include some of the events the VVLA has planned for the coming year.

If you enjoy spending time with friends outside in the winter, don’t forget to take advantage of the snowshoe hike on February 4th from 1 to 3pm at the Van Vliet Hemlocks Nature Preserve. The Friends of the Van Vliet Hemlocks will be sponsoring this event, led by a guide from the Discovery Center.  If interested, the sign up is through the Discovery Center (discoverycenter.net ).

That same evening an informal social dinner and conversation with your lake neighbors and friends will take place at the PI Pub. We are gathering in the backroom at the Pub at 6pm and while reservations aren’t required, we look forward to “waking” as many of you as possible from your “winter hibernation” for fun and food.

Don’t forget to lock into on your summer calendar, our annual Lake Association meeting.  We will be holding this again at Pipke Park starting at 10am on Saturday, July 15th.  As earlier mention, Jamie VandenLangenberger will be our speaker.  Jamie is the Water Program Coordinator at North Lakeland Discovery Center.

On July 29, we will offer an aquatic plant identification class from 10-12.  The class will be conducted on the lake from a pontoon boat and start from the Van Vliet Lake boat landing. Drop a note back on the website link below if you plan to attend.

Hope to see you on Saturday evening, February 4th at the PI Pub!
